shopper programs, discounted pricing and special product
availability.
Miva Merchant allows you to create categories, products,
and attributes using wizards, the Miva Merchant administration
interface, or the product import utility. Use the sorting
capability to quickly organize your products for display.
Create detailed product descriptions using text and
HTML and attributes can be assigned to products to allow
you to identify your products' characteristics more
accurately to your customers.
Miva Merchant has the capability to implement a variety
of programs to increase your sales. With Miva Merchant
you can associate complimentary products to give shoppers
the opportunity to purchase others that are similar
. You can also create an upsale process when shoppers
meet pre-defined criteria such as purchasing specific
products, or exceeding specified dollar amounts.
Pricing groups can be used in combination with select
shopper availability groups to qualify them for discounts
on any or all products in the store.
Processing Credit Card Payments
Processing credit card payments is easy with Miva
Merchant's pre-configured payment processing solutions
from industry leaders. Miva Merchant also configures
multiple sales tax methods and provides your customers
with multiple shipping options. Checking order status
is also simple with our instant order email confirmations
that are sent to both the merchant and customer.

It also includes an option to accept Check Payment.
The Check Payment module allows your customers to enter
a check number at order time. It is assumed that the
customers will then mail in the check. We create a footer
that tells the customer where to send the check.
COD payments can also be included if you wish. The
COD Payment module allows you to enter an extra charge
your customers will be billed when selecting this payment
module. It also allows you to enter a message that will
be displayed when the customer selects this option.
If you already have a business accepting credit cards,
you can simply used Credit Card Payment with Simple
Validation. This is simple credit card validation module.
It does not validate credit card payments, it simply
verifies that the credit card number is a valid number.
Select the credit cards you wish to accept. The numbers
are encrypted, but with your password, you can then
retrieve the credit card numbers and charge them using
your existing account, just as you would a telephone
order.
Shipping Your Products
Miva Merchant provides a number of shipping options.
You can set up as many of these shipping options as
you wish. The more you configure, the more options you
can offer your customers.
You can select either Price Table Based Shipping or
Weight Table Based Shipping. Then select the shipping
options that you wish to offer.

FedEx®
The FedEx Shipping Cost Estimate module accesses FedEx®
to calculate the shipping cost. If you have an existing
FedEx account, you can use that account number. If you
do not presently have an a FedEx account, just visit
the FedEx website to open a new account. FedEx uses
OpenSSL, which your host should already have installed.
The FedEx Shipping Cost Estimate module calculations
are based on one package per order.
UPS OnLine® Rates & Service Selection Tool
This type of shipping accesses the UPS® database
and calculates UPS shipping cost. The UPS options define
how your packages are delivered to UPS and the charges
for the delivery service. Miva Merchant will take information
on the items in your shoppers' baskets, and based on
weight and services selected, will calculate shipping
charges to be added to your customers orders. Miva Merchant
uses the UPS Rates & Service Selection Tool to provide
real-time rates for each package.
United States Postal Service U.S.P.S. Online
Rate Calculation (Domestic & International)
Miva Merchant accesses U.S.P.S. Rates to calculate the
shipping cost. Miva Merchant will take information for
items in your shoppers' baskets, and based on weight
and service selected, will calculate shipping charges
to be added to your customers orders.
You can even provide your own shipping rates, for example
if you deliver your own merchandise by truck or would
prefer to work with a freight forwarder. Miva merchant
offers these methods to calculate shipping costs:
- Minimum or Weight Shipping
- Flat Rate Shipping
- Base + Weight Shipping
